Kalevala Kasino Review

Kalevala Kasino is an online casino showcasing the blues and whites of its Finnish theme. The colour scheme in use leaves players in no doubt as to where they are playing, with a Finnish warrior sitting atop a treasure chest as the main homepage graphic. The ice cold exterior is visible through the use of an ice sculptured bird of prey and the use of cold blues and whites, skies and waters. So why play here? What does Kalevala Kasino have to offer?
The Kalevala is a work of epic poetry and was written in 1835. Almost 200 years later, Lucky Dino Gaming Limited have developed Kalevala Kasino under the same name and it’s licensed in Malta. This online casino has its own Twitter and Facebook pages but with only a handful of followers and likes, it is not the most popular site at present. The social media links are not obvious at first and can be located under the live chat tab. Kalevala Kasino is presented in Finnish but due to the wonders of Google Translate, it is playable in other languages.

About Kalevala Kasino

Lucky Dino Gaming Limited operate Kalevala Kasino under Maltese jurisdiction and they are also responsible for the more popular Lucky Dino casino and Casino Jefe. They state use of the best possible security and encryption technology to ensure their customers’ details and payment information is kept safe. Their customer services are available via live chat (only in Finnish) between 10:00 and 02:00. There appears to be no email address or phone number to contact outwith these times.

Euro’s the Currency Here

Kalevala Kasino offer a wide range of e-wallet and banking options for deposits and withdrawals. The site only operates using the euro currency. Banking methods in use are Visa, MasterCard, Skrill, Neteller, Zimpler, Paysafe, Siru Mobile and bank transfer. The typical minimum deposit amount is €20 with a maximum of €5000 and these are usually transferred immediately and with no charges. For withdrawals, there is a minimum amount of €30 and a maximum of €20,000 dependent on the bank. Withdrawal times can vary from between 24 hours to five working days. There may be charges associated with making withdrawals and this is capped at a maximum of €25. Players are able to set limits on their deposit amounts which allows them to restrict their play and abide by the responsible gambling guidelines.

Kalevala Bonuses

When players sign up at Kalevala Kasino, they are treated to a 100% deposit bonus on their first deposit and additional bonuses on their second and third deposits. For the first deposit, players can choose to receive a 100% deposit of up to €150 subject to a 50x wagering requirement or a 30% deposit bonus subject to a 10x wagering requirement. This allows players some flexibility and lets them choose the bonus to suit the way the play. There are also 20 free spins to claim on selected games as a welcome bonus.
On a player's second deposit, they can choose to receive a 50% deposit match on €100 with a 50x wager stipulation or a 15% deposit on €30 with a 10x wager requirement. The third and final deposit match offers 75% on a €75 deposit with 50x wager requirement or 20% on €20 subject to 10x wagering. There currently does not appear to be any other offers or bonuses available at Kalevala Kasino as you expect to find at other online casinos. There are usually daily, weekly and sometimes happy hour type bonuses but features like these are not yet offered.

Coin Meter Feature

At Kalevala Kasino, there is no VIP club to speak of. However, on the site, a Coin Meter feature is in use and this is a virtual meter which fills as players play the online video slots. Once full, players are given the option to transfer coins into free spins or even into real cash at the Kalevala shop. Information on this Coin Meter is limited and there is no direct link to the Kalevala shop to transfer these funds.
The operators of Kalevala Kasion offer an affiliates package in place of the more commonly found VIP clubs. There is no direct link from the Kalevala site to the affiliates page but with some online browsing, players will find that they are in fact linked to the Affmore affiliates program. This program can offer players up to 40% revenue reward for attracting other gamblers to the site and rewarding them when they sign up and play. The Kalevala affiliates link on the Affmore site states that it is for loyal affiliates only and to contact their affiliates manager for more information.

Finnish Mobile Play

There is a dedicated mobile-compatible site for Kalevala Kasino, but this is only available in Finnish. The games were unplayable on the mobile site without registering an account but the site itself is optimised for mobile play and the layout and navigation is well suited to the smaller screen. With a website translating app for mobile, the site can be used by non-Finnish speaking players but this could prove to be a bit of a nuisance and would depend on how badly players wanted to use the site.

Free Plays at Kalevala Casino

There are over 150 online video slot games to choose from at Kalevala Kasino and these include many branded games like Starburst, Guns N Roses, Jack and the Beanstalk and the ever popular Gonzo’s Quest. These are all available to play for free before playing for real money so players can take their pick before they get serious. With four differing versions of video poker and speciality games such as Keno, all types of players can find something that suits. More traditional casino table games are on offer here too with games like baccarat, blackjack, poker, roulette and pontoon. The table games are plenty and they feature various limits catering for players of all limits.

Kalevala Kasino in Conclusion

Kalevala Kasino is a limited online casino as it is only available to players in Finland, Malta and Estonia due to its licensing restrictions. The look of the page is that of a gaming site and the cartoon-like graphics and colour scheme on show are definitely appealing. There is certainly a wide variety of games and limits to choose from if you are able to play and if you speak the language.
To delve into the actual games, players have to choose the small tab at the top of the page. Otherwise, there is not much information available on the homepage other than creating an account. An overhaul of the site would be beneficial and this could result in the site attracting more traffic and players than the social media links would suggest. The ever increasing level of online casinos on offer may prove to be a stumbling block for Kalevala Kasino as it is such a limited site. Finnish players may be attracted here as it suits them best but for everyone else, they may be inclined to take their business elsewhere.

Introduction to Cryptocurrencies: BSV, the Messenger to Realize Satoshi Vision

Introduction to Cryptocurrencies: BSV, the Messenger to Realize Satoshi Vision

Written by the CoinEx Institution, this series of jocular and easy to understand articles will show you everything you need to know about major cryptocurrencies, making you fully prepared before jumping into crypto!
Today we are going to introduce the BSV, which has just finished its first halving and the block reward has been reduced to 6.25 BSV. BSV represents “Bitcoin Satoshi Vision”, aiming to achieve the original intention of a large-scale on-chain expansion and be a universal peer-to-peer electronic cash and a valuable data transmission network.
You may ask, was not BTC born on behalf of Satoshi Vision? Then what was BSV made for? How can it represent Satoshi Vision and even claim itself as the “rebirth of original Bitcoin”
To explain this, we have to go back to BTC and BCH, two predecessors contributing to the birth of BSV — BSV is a fork of BTC’s fork, which means that BSV is actually a fork of BCH.
(You may think it is crazy: What on earth are all these forks for?)
We talked about BTC and BCH in previous articles of CoinEx Introduction to Cryptocurrency. BTC has been criticized for its technical design flaw of the small block capacity. When it comes to capacity expansion, many BTC believers and programmers made a lot of improvements on the original basis (for the complicated process, check our previous introductions). In addition to BCH, there are various fork coins such as BTG, up to more than 80 at the peak (which shocked me), but many of them were just a flash in the pan amid the BTC rush. Only BCH and BTG finally survived and were recognized. We will leave BTG to another article later.
BCH was forked from BTC in 2017. After one year, BCH was again ushered in a fork as the two development teams of BCH failed to agree on how to best develop BCH and deploy updated codes. As a result, BCH was split into two camps, BCH ABC and BCH SV, and they decided to compete for championship with hashrate!
As a result, at 0:40 am on November 16, 2018 started the first hashrate war in the history of digital currencies! One of the two sides in this decisive battle was Craig Wright, who claims to be “Satoshi Nakamoto”, with the nChain development team supported by Calvin Ayre, a gambling industry millionaire.Another was the Bitcoin ABC development team with its backers, Wu Jihan, Founder and CEO of Bitmain, and Roger Ver, the “Jesus of Bitcoin”.
The BCH hashrate battle lasted for over one week from November 16 to November 23 when SV admitted defeat and gave up the fight over the title power. Since then, the hashrate war has officially ended, and BCH was forked into the BCH original chain and the BSV chain, symbolizing the birth of BSV!
Bitcoin SV provides a new full-node Bitcoin Cash (BCH) that aims to realize the vision originally set by Satoshi Nakamoto in his Bitcoin white paper.
Unlike other competing Bitcoin Cash (BCH) that makes unnecessary changes to Bitcoin, BSV‘s development roadmap aims to restore Satoshi’s original agreement, maintain agreement stability, implement large-scale expansion, and then assure large companies of project development based on the solid foundation of BCH.
The birth of BSV also delivered a beautiful story for its believers: It doesn’t matter that the original BTC is unable to realize Satoshi Vision, because we can fork and create BSV to continue fulfillment. Therefore, whether it is for Satoshi Vision or for commercial use worldwide, BSV represents an infinitely bright future with inestimable value.
BCH and BSV both finished halving and BTC will soon to undergo it. How will affect the market? What do you think about these? Follow CoinEx to get updates on the halving. Join us in a journey towards a new peak.

A former head of Danske Bank’s Estonian branch, which is at the center of inquiries into the world’s largest money laundering scandal, was found dead on Wednesday.

From Reuters
Danske Bank, Denmark’s largest lender, is under investigation in several countries, including the United States, Denmark, Britain and Estonia, over suspicious payments totaling 200 billion euros ($220 billion) which were moved through its tiny Estonian branch during the period Rehe was in charge.
Rehe’s death is likely to complicate investigations into Danske Bank’s Estonian operation, including by U.S. authorities.
The former banker’s importance in investigating the case was highlighted by the fact that he had been quizzed, as a witness, by Estonian prosecutors.
Danske Bank’s is the largest in a series of European money laundering scandals, stretching from Latvia to Sweden.
And in a sign of the wider ramifications of the case, Frankfurt prosecutors said they had raided Deutsche Bank’s headquarters in the German financial capital in relation to Danske Bank. Deutsche Bank said it was cooperating.
The time period that Rehe oversaw the bank coincided with Trump making lots of cash purchases and receiving tons of money from Russia.
Don Jr said there was tons of money pouring in from Russia in 2008.
Around 2006, the Trump Org started paying cash for properties.
In the nine years before he ran for president, Donald Trump’s company spent more than $400 million in cash on new properties — including 14 transactions paid for in full, without borrowing from banks — during a buying binge that defied real estate industry practices and Trump’s own history as the self-described “King of Debt.”
Instead, Eric Trump said, the firm’s existing businesses — commercial buildings in New York, licensing deals for Trump-branded hotels and clothes — produced so much cash that the Trumps could tap that flow for spending money.
Trump’s lavish spending came at a time when his business was leaning largely on one major financial institution for its new loans — Deutsche Bank, which provided $295 million in financing for big projects in Miami and Washington.
The year before he launched his campaign for president, Trump made the two most expensive all-cash purchases that The Post found in its review. In 2014, he shelled out $79.7 million for the huge golf resorts in Doonbeg, Ireland, and Turnberry, Scotland — both of which were losing money at the time.
The Trump Organization pursued pricey renovations of both courses, during which time the properties have continued to suffer losses. Under Trump, the two courses are at least $240 million in the hole so far, according to British and Irish corporate records.
The house in FL sold to the Russian Oligarch was purchased during this time.
Importantly, Trump's casinos were fined multiple times for not following rules to prevent money-laundering.
https://www.reuters.com/article/trump-ent-trumptajmahal-moneylaundering-idUSL1N0VL2L120150211
https://www.cnn.com/2017/05/22/politics/trump-taj-mahal/index.html
According to a dozen anti-money laundering experts, casinos often run into these problems. But getting caught with 106 violations in the casino's opening years is an indicator of a serious problem, they said.
The violations date back to a time when the Taj Mahal was the preferred gambling spot for Russian mobsters living in Brooklyn, according to federal investigators who tracked organized crime in New York City. They also occurred at a time when the Taj Mahal casino was short on cash and on the verge of bankruptcy.
The official statement from FinCEN
Trump Taj Mahal, a casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, admitted to several willful BSA violations, including violations of AML program requirements, reporting obligations, and recordkeeping requirements. Trump Taj Mahal has a long history of prior, repeated BSA violations cited by examiners dating back to 2003. Additionally, in 1998, FinCEN assessed a $477,700 civil money penalty against Trump Taj Mahal for currency transaction reporting violations.
TLDR: A senior banking official, who oversaw an Estonian branch of Danske Bank, which was involved in ~$220 billion in money laundering during roughly the same decade-long period that Trump used cash to buy properties, was found dead after speaking with prosecutors and investigators. It is highly likely that the properties purchased with cash are laundromats for Russian Oligarch money as previous Trump properties have been/are.

Polish Ekstraklasa 2018/2019 - league guide and all teams previews (part 2/2)

Here we go again. Link to part 1/2.

Miedź Legnica

Coach: Dominik Nowak Captain: Wojciech Łobodziński Most caps: Debutants Top scorer: Debutants Debut: 2018/2019 Biggest achievement: Promotion to Ekstraklasa (2017/2018) Last season: 1st place (I Liga) Nickname(s): Miedzianka Stadium: White Eagle Stadium (6 244) Gif: https://streamable.com/e8dly

After several years of trial, Miedź finally won I Liga and got promoted to Ekstraklasa. It is worth saying, that they did it without any troubles, losing only 5 matches for whole season (losing only 5 matches is really rare achievement for Polish club). Team played very offensive, entertaining football and has stable finances, so their promotion is good for Ekstraklasa. On paper Miedź are debutants, but in fact more than half of their squad already played in Polish top tier. Squad is very experienced. All indications are that they won't be second Sandecja and will stay in Ekstraklasa a little longer. Miedź looks rather like a mid table team, but may have problems in future, cause average age is high.

Interesting players
Anton Kanibolotskiy Ukrainian goalkeeper. Five years spent in Shakhtar Donetsk. Starter against PSG in Champions League. Now, sits on the bench in newly promoted Polish team.
Paweł Zieliński Brother of Piotr Zieliński from Napoli. Hard to say anything more about him.
Łukasz Garguła/Wojciech Łobodziński Both were called up for EURO 2008, Łobodziński was even a starter. Now, Wojciech (36) is captain of team. Łukasz (37) won't appear in starting eleven, but Nowak may use him, when Miedź will have comfortable lead.
Petteri Forsell Scorer of first goal of the season. One year ago he almost joined Cracovia, but they resigned, cause he was too fat.
Henrik Ojamaa Absolutely love him. His tendency to make always bad decisions adds colors to this league.
Fun fact After leaving Legia in 2015 and before joining Miedź in 2018, Henrik Ojamaa played for five different teams. Overall, he was employed in fifteen different clubs in his eleven years old career. And he is only 27, so he still can beat Sebastian Abreu.

Piast Gliwice

Coach: Waldemar Fornalik Captain: Gerard Badia Most caps: Jakub Szmatuła (127, 2009-) Top scorer: Kamil Wilczek (36, 2009-2010, 2013-2015) Debut: 2008/2009 Biggest achievement: Runners-up (2015/2016) Last season: 14th place Nickname(s): The Nurses Stadium: Gliwice City Stadium (9 913) Gif: https://gfycat.com/ImperturbableThankfulAmericanredsquirrel

From all clubs playing in Ekstraklasa today, Piast was the most threatened of relegation. They avoided it in last matchday, when they beat Termalica Nieciecza (team from the smallest town to ever play in any top-tier football league in the world) 4-0. Only two years earlier, Piast was absolutely unexpectedly fighting for championship. Team was the biggest sensation of the season. They played very entertaining, offensive football, but ultimately lost against Legia (led by current Russia NT coach, Stanislav Cherchesov) 0-4. 4-0 against Termalica and avoiding relegation. 0-4 against Legia and losing chance for championship. Moreover, manager of "Piastelona" (as they were called), Radoslav Latal, currently works in... Spartak Trnava, which eliminated Legia from CL Qualifiers. Well... Current manager of Piast, Waldemar Fornalik (alias "Sad Waldemar", because he never even smiled) worked earlier in Ruch Chorzów and Poland NT. Ruch led by him was either fighting for avoiding relegation or fighting for the medals. If he repeats that again, Piast would be the darkest from all dark horses. They won their two first matches, so...

Interesting players
Jakub Czerwiński Bald centre-back, decent in Pogoń, but was mainly sitting on the bench in Legia and joined Piast in winter. Helped in avoiding relegation.
Tomasz Jodłowiec Great player by Ekstraklasa standards. Loaned from Legia, played with them in Champions League, 49 caps for Poland NT including winning match against Germany. He didn't have bigger career mostly due to problems with gambling.
Konstantin Vassiljev Piast fans were delighted, when Emperor of Estonia returned to his former club after fantastic season in Jagiellonia, but he became only the biggest transfer flop of summer break. 1 goal and 1 assist. Moreover, Kostia missed two penalties on the beginning of the season. Maybe if he scored, Piast wouldn't be threatened of relegation later.
Gerard Badia Probably the most likeable player of whole league. I've never seen someone who dislike him.
Michal Papadopulos He played was employed in Arsenal during their 2003/2004 Invincibles season. Luckily, later his career moved forward and now he plays in Ekstraklasa.
Fun fact Gliwice City Stadium is identical copy of German SC Paderborn stadium. It is also popularly called "Tesco Arena", due to its similarity to supermarket.

Pogoń Szczecin

Coach: Kosta Runjaić Captain: Adam Frączczak Most caps: Leszek Wolski (348, 1971-1987) Top scorer: Leszek Wolski (87, 1971-1987) Debut: 1959 Biggest achievement: Runners-up (2 times: 1986/1987, 2000/2001) Last season: 11th place Nickname(s): The Dockers, The Pride of Pomerania Stadium: Florian Krygier Stadium (18 027) Gif: https://gfycat.com/HugeBothIslandwhistler

In recent years, Pogoń was considered as upper mid table team, but nothing more. Unexpectedly, they were the 2nd bigggest flop of last season after Lechia, ending it at 11th position (but remaining last during winter break). Surprise was huge also because Pogoń's coach Maciej Skorża was titled, had successful career and managed clubs like Wisła Kraków, Legia and Lech. Situation was hopeless, and then the winged hussars Kosta Runjaić arrived. Similarly to Gino Lettieri, Runjaić worked in lower German leagues. He saved team and gave him a style. His success was irrefutable. In summer two important midfielders leaved team. Veteran Rafał Murawski is currently free agent and young talent Jakub Piotrowski joined Genk. New season started for Pogoń like in "Groundhog day". They lost all three matches and didn't score even a single goal. Runjaić should have all his wits about him, because in Poland three loses are enough for being fired and your earlier work doesn't matter.

Interesting players
Sebastian Walukiewicz Young centre-back, joined Pogoń from Legia reserves. Player to watch.
Zvonimir Kozulj Went here from Hajduk Split, so theoretically should do well. Theoretically.
Radosław Majewski The most notable Pogoń signing, spent six years in Nottingham Forrest. Joined team from Lech Poznań, where didn't shine, but in smaller club (no offense) it will be probably easier.
Spas Delev Once former lethal couple of wingers with Hungarian Adam Gyurcso. Key player of team, currently injured.
Adam Frączczak Universal player this time will play as a left winger. In past was used as right winger, right-back and striker.
Morten Rasmussen Top scorer in history of Danish Superliga (145 goals). One goal for Pogoń. I know he is old, but how scoring in Ekstraklasa can be so hard for striker like him?
Fun fact Florian Krygier Stadium is popularly called "Paprikana" - hybrid of Maracana and paprykarz szczeciński.

Śląsk Wrocław

Coach: Tadeusz Pawłowski Captain: Piotr Celeban Most caps: Mieczysław Kopycki (289, 1974-1984) Top scorer: Tadeusz Pawłowski (63, 1974-1982) Debut: 1964/1965 Biggest achievement: Champions (2 times: 1976/1977, 2011/2012) Last season: 10th place Nickname(s): The Militaries Stadium: Wrocław City Stadium (42 771) Gif: https://gfycat.com/WarmheartedGraciousGermanspitz

After winning 2011/2012 season, Śląsk achieved Europa League Qualifiers two times. In the other years they gained only places between 9 and 11 (I could insert obvious joke her, but it's just too obvious). Anyway, they were in TOP 3, but TOP 3 of relegation group. Team was disappointing and boring, one of the most boring in league. I don't know if you noticed, but Śląsk was probably the most often appearing club in Ekstraklasa gifs. One year ago, Śląsk did incredibly many transfers (mostly old players, who were good a few years earlier). This summer Śląsk did not so many transfers (mostly young players with potential). Their last season was also boring for the most part, but they started looking promising at the end. Manager of team, Tadeusz "Teddy" Pawłowski (the opposite of Fornalik - he laughs and smiles all the time) is also top scorer of Śląsk. Club's stadium is the biggest stadium in Ekstraklasa. On paper, they have potential to achieve championship group, maybe something more.

Interesting players
Jakub Wrąbel From all player who represented Poland on EURO U21, he was the worst (maybe except Dawidowicz). Śląsk will be in troubles, if starting goalkeeper Słowik gets injured.
Piotr Celeban/Wojciech Golla Śląsk's couple of centre-backs looks very solid. Celeban is one of the best defenders in Ekstraklasa. He also scored 44 goals in his career which is impressive result. Golla returned to Poland after three years in Dutch NEC Nijmegen.
Igors "This one with the long hair" Tarasovs I want to express my heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the people of Latvia. I would commit suicide, if footballer like Tarasovs played in my national team.
Kamil Vacek Vassiljev, but from 2015/2016. He was key player of sesational Piast Gliwice. One year ago, after year in Israel, he joined Śląsk and obviously did nothing.
Damian Gąska During last season he played in 2nd tier Wigry Suwałki, but still was called up to Poland U21. It means something.
Farshad Ahmadzadeh First Iranian in Ekstraklasa, has potential to be one of the best players in league. His technique is very impressive, he must be very proud.
Marcin Robak He is 36, but still would be important player for every Ekstraklasa team except Legia and Lech. The only active member of Club 100 - players who scored at least 100 goals in Ekstraklasa (102). Young, promising talent, Paweł Brożek (35) scored 140, but still remains free agent.
Fun fact Śląsk Wrocław gave Ekstraklasa one of the most iconic and legendary coaches in history of league - Stanislav Levy, Czech Guardiola, The Social One, King od Wrocław welfare apartments, chieftain of Olomoucan scrappers. Even looking at this photo, you can hear songs of Karel Gott, sinister screeching of Škoda 130 L with Czechoslovak license plate and smell violet ambrosia.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Wisła Kraków the Strong? I thought not. It's not a story Reddit would tell you. It's a Polish legend. Wisła Kraków was a side of Polish Ekstraklasa, so powerful and so rich they could use the money to buy every player from other Ekstraklasa team and be... Polish Bayern. They had such a power to qualify to Champions League, but in qualifiers usually played against Real or Barcelona. Old way of qualifying to CL was a pathway to many injustices some consider to be... unnatural. They were so powerful... the only thing fans were afraid of was losing their owner, which eventually, of course, happened. Unfortunately, now club is incredibly poor and Błaszczykowski lent them €1m. Ironic. They could buy whoever they wanted, but now they have troubles with renting stadium.

Interesting players
Marcin Wasilewski Poland starter at EURO 2008 and EURO 2012, Anderlecht's legend and Premier League champion with Leicester. One of the most impressive careers in Ekstraklasa. Not as impressive as Krasić or Eduardo, but Wasilewski unlike them plays well.
Zoran Arsenić Wisła's key player, often linked with Bundesliga sides.
Maciej Sadlok Probably the best left-back in league. He never leaved Ekstraklasa and isn't called up to national team, because he is afraid of flying.
Riccardo Grym/Kamil Wojtkowski Two young players to watch. One year ago Wojtkowski joined Wisła from RB Leipzig, Grym came before start of this season from Borussia M... a German team.
Tibor Halilović Brother of Alen Halilović. I wonder how does he feel.
Rafał Boguski Hero of one of the most iconic photos in history of league. Also, scorer of the fastest goal in history of Poland NT (23rd second).
Patryk "Who the fuck are you?" Małecki This guy is state of mind. Or at least was, because now he calmed down. In past he was doing many things he shouldn't have done (but still more intelligent than He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named).
Fun fact When coach Maciej Stolarczyk worked as a sports director in Pogoń Szczecin, club signed forward Nadir Çiftçi from Celtic on loan. To put it mildly, he didn't do well. However, a few months later Stolarczyk said that he was satisfied, because "Çiftçi fulfiled his role. Other players saw that they are not worse than footballer worth so much money.".

Wisła Płock was one of the biggest surprises of last season and unexpectedly achieved 5th place. Their manager, Jerzy Brzęczek was announced as a new Poland NT head coach a few weeks ago. Wisła was a decent team in early 2000s, but later got relegated and returned to Ekstraklasa in 2016/2017. Their first season after promotion was only not bad and they gained 12th place. On paper their squad from next season didn't look way better, but team was one of dark horses. Now, repeating this success would be unbelievable. New manager of team, Dariusz Dźwigała, who achieved nothing in his career (he is also father of footballer of Wisła, Adam Dźwigała). Team's squad looks OK, enough for being mid table team.

Interesting players
Adam Dźwigała/Igor Łasicki Rivalry between these two will be interesting. Łasicki is loaned from Napoli (you are not Napoli player by accident), and Dźwigała is manager's son. I'm not saying anything...
Dominik Furman Kingmaker and grey eminence of Polish football. After unsuccessful stay in Toulouse, he surprisingly joined newly promoted Wisła.
Damian Szymański Both key player and player to watch. This is probably his last season in Poland.
Semir Stilić Experienced playmaker doesn't shine like in Lech and Wisła Kraków, but still remains important for Płock. He was a beast in the past.
Giorgi Merebashvili Giorgi is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get. This gif perfectly summarise him. Fast, technically gifted, but his finishing is only meh.
Ricardinho He returns to Poland after five years. Most of them he spent in Moldovan Sheriff Tiraspol. Solid forward by Ekstraklasa standards.
Fun fact One year ago Marcin Kaczmarek resigned as a Wisła's manager a few days before start of the season, because Dominik Furman said that trainings are too hard. Kaczmarek started working in Wisła in 2012, when club played in 3rd tier. Furman joined team in 2016, after promotion to Ekstraklasa.

Zagłębie Lubin

In 2014/2015 Zagłębie under coach Piotr Stokowiec (currently Lechia Gdańsk) won I Liga and returned to Ekstraklasa after one year. In 2015/2016, as a newly promoted team, they reached 3rd place (this season was really weird overall). In the summer 2016 they eliminated Levski Sofia and Partizan Belgrad from EL Qualifiers and... That's all. Later things got only worse. They achieved 9th place in 2016/2017. In season 2017/2018 Stokowiec got sacked and was replaced by Shakhtar Donetsk legend, Mariusz Lewandowski (no, he is not related to Robert). Watching them became hard, but similarly to their rivals from Śląsk, they started playing better at the end of the season, I would say that they are dark horses, but some people call them dark horses every year. Admittedly, squad looks very well, and Zagłębie won their two first matches (including 3-1 against Legia away).

Interesting players
Piotr Leciejewski He returned to Poland after successful years in Norway, knowing that Zagłębie needs a goalkeeper. Surprisingly, young Hładun became a starter.
Jakub Tosik He doesn't care about average sides and plays only against the strongest. When you need someone to broke legs your enemies - you can always ask him. As illegitimate son of coach Stokowiec, he will join Lechia sooner or later.
Adam Matuszczyk Dozens of matches in Bundesliga. Over twenty for Poland NT. And what? Nothing
Filip Starzyński Example of player born for Ekstraklasa. Too slow and phlegmatic for stronger league, but technically good enough for being Riquelme of Ekstraklasa. When he wants and when he is fully healthy, so really seldom, but still. Classic number 10, would be a star in seventies.
Damjan Bohar One of the best transfers this summer. Bohar came to Poland from Slovenian Maribor and looked very promising. He also scored a goal in Champions League last season.
Bartłomiej Pawłowski Except episode in Malaga, Pawłowski is also remembered for calling 7 a.m. "horrendous" hour for waking up.
Fun fact In 1999 Michael Essien could join Zagłębie, but in coach Mirosław Jabłoński opinion, he was not good enough.

Zagłębie Sosnowiec

Coach: Dariusz Dudek Captain: Tomasz Nowak Most caps: Roman Bazan (304, 1958, 1960-1973) Top scorer: Andrzej Jarosik (113, 1958-1975) Debut: 1955 Biggest achievement: Runners-up (4 times: 1955, 1963/1964, 1966/1967, 1971/1972) Last season: 2nd place (I Liga) Nickname(s): The Basiners Stadium: People's Stadium (4 950) Gif: https://streamable.com/qfmw

After many years Zagłębie finally returned to top tier, but they did it in a different style than Miedź. Club just crawled into Ekstraklasa and was the least worst from many bad teams in I Liga. Squad of team looks bad, there is probably no worse team in our league currently. Avoiding relegation would be a miracle. Sentences like these are very unusual. We are talking about league flat like plate, and they have potential to be Polish Benevento. Terrifying. Yesterday they won against Pogoń, but it looks like anyone can beat Pogoń now. It doesn't change anything. It's not like I hate them or something. I feel sorry for them.

Interesting players
Piotr Polczak How this guy was employed in Russia and Romania?
Bartłomiej Babiarz Similarly to Piotr Wlazło, when I hear about him, I think about his goal.
Tomasz Nowak Key player of team. He even debuted for Poland (and scored prestigious goal against Singapore in prestigious 2010 Thailand's King's Cup).
Callum Rzonca He came to Zagłębie in winter. From English 6th tier.
Junior Torunarigha Didn't do well in German 3rd league and Dutch 2nd league. But found a job in Ekstraklasa.
Fun fact Wall in club's chairman (Marcin Jaroszewski) office has written quote from one of Polish rock band "Perfect" songs. In translation, quote means: There's not much that I can give You There's not much that I can give You Cause I have not much myself There's not much that I can give You There's not much that I can give You I'm sorry

The most important rivalries

Legia Warsaw Górnik Zabrze Derby of Poland (historical)
Legia Warsaw Wisła Kraków Derby of Poland (historical)
Legia Warsaw Lech Poznań Derby of Poland (current)
Legia Warsaw Jagiellonia Białystok Relatively new rivalry, connected with growing importance of Jagiellonia in Polish football
Śląsk Wrocław Zagłębie Lubin Lower Silesia Derby
Zagłębie Sosnowiec Górnik Zabrze/Piast Gliwice "Gorole" vs "Hanysy" (Non-Silesians vs Silesians)

Three short questions

Why didn't you give detailed predictions? As I said, Ekstraklasa is too flat for giving detailed predictions. Most things are nothing more than a coincidence and luck/bad luck. We have three teams which are a bit better than the rest (but I'm also not sure all of them will be in TOP 3) and one team which is worse than the rest. Order of other teams is not to predict.
Why is Ekstraklasa so special? There are many worse leagues in Europe! Yes, but our league is one of a kind. Playing level is the opposite of background level. We have beautiful stadiums, TV programmes, interviews, rankings, VAR, commentators pretend that they are excited, players are actually popular. Look at this. Or at this. Or at this (from 2016/2017). This is like watching Macedonian League, but in Bundesliga packaging. In Poland we call things like that "gówno w papierku po cukierku" - shit in a candy wrapper.
How can I watch it? https://www.dailymotion.com/ekstraklasa Official stream. Enjoy.

35F medical professional US-->Europe

Ok, please critique my expat plan mercilessly…
Background: 35yo F hospitalist PA at well-respected academic west-coast institution (trained and now teach here), current salary ~110k with ~160 hospital shifts per year, homeowner in said west-coast city, good friends here (grew up here), travel frequently, yet despite this I WANT OUT!
I currently have the bandwidth on my days off to pick up some telemedicine and chart-review jobs. I have about ~40k in savings (not counting 401k & the house). I have friends in Berlin, Helsinki, Stockholm and Amsterdam (none are expats so can laugh at my attempted speaking/learning of their native language).
My goal destinations are Denmark, Sweden, Germany or Holland. Finland also but sadly there aren’t really any grad programs there that I’m interested in. I’m pretty quick with languages though the ones I know are not much use in this plan and of the options, Swedish/Danish comes easier to me than German or Dutch. And we all know about Finnish (the Finns said they would laugh if I learned it)
I made a large spreadsheet with the graduate programs I am interested in, their application/start dates, costs.
My possible plans are as follows:
Plan 1) slow transition: -Ramp up on the remote job and get a sense of the feasibility of that lifestyle abroad (being aware of the 90/180 rule) and cut back my current job to 0.6-0.7 so I can be gone for the longer stretches. (Ease into the DN role)
-Double-check that the cities where the grad programs are offered are places I would want to be for a longer period that I have not spent much time (Aarhus, Uppsala, Hambug etc). Apply and start said grad program: Programs I am looking at with practical applications:
Toxicology
Pharm research
Drug Discovery and Safety
Vaccinology
Medical Innovation
-work remotely part-time to supplement income while in school. -Ideally make connections during my 2-year grad program to help me secure a work visa from a pharmaceutical company or other large company. Work and live happily every after in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Holland etc
Plan 2) fast transition:
Once DN work enabled, apply for DAFT or freelance visa in Germany. My business idea is for a mobile medical app (my friend in Holland had a nightmare trying to get a simple Rx), my other friend in Holland is a physician so could help me potentially launch this. Tech sector is huge in either Berlin or Amsterdam and it seems like there could be a role for this sort of app. Ideally could make some contacts before I complete a Medical Informatics grad program in Amsterdam or the one in Germany. I’m not sure how the visa switch from freelance to student would be but would hopefully end up with a full-time position in a tech company of sorts helping with medical apps. There is also a program like this in Estonia that looks interesting. Live happily ever after working in tech or in IT at a hospital.
Plan 3) either fast or slow transition to start
Once DN work enabled decide if I like Holland enough to stay there permanently (it’s a bit flat and developed for my taste and Dutch is not my favorite language). However the Dutch are lovely and I like my friends there. Master Dutch and get my PA license in Holland through the BIG registry https://english.bigregister.nl/foreign-diploma/procedures/recognition-professional-qualifications Practice as a PA in Holland, live happily ever after. Could possibly do this in Germany, though it’s only a BS degree rather than an MSc and thus the pay is lower. There is a PA program in Berlin, but I suspect it will take me a while to master German in order to teach.
Plan 4) Most fanciful
DN work enabled, enroll in an art program in Berlin to study something I love but without much practical application via student visa. Drop said program and enroll in serious scientific grad programs mentioned above when the time comes.
Questions:
  1. If I did a grad program under this umbrella (say, Toxicology or Vaccine research) in a city where I was not convinced I would want to live (Geneva or Bruges), how likely would it be that I could find a job in my desired city (Copenhagen or Stockholm) given their large pharmaceutical presence? To me, this seems risky. Though I suppose I could also consider a transfer from the Swiss branch to the Nordic branch.
  2. If I enrolled in a more fanciful art program in Berlin (let’s face it, studying art in Berlin also a dream of mine though entirely unpractical), would I be penalized for dropping my studies when the time came to switch to something practical? Is it more difficult to get a student visa to study art?
  3. If I came under DAFT or the German freelance visa, how much do they check up on the actual launch of your business plan? From my reading it looked like you had to have some contacts and submit a business plan but that’s it. I’m concerned that my “freelancing” doing medical work remotely and showing up with a business idea for mobile medical app is not quite enough to squeak by… Also, again if I came under DAFT or German freelance, would they care if I enrolled in a grad program? Would I need to switch to a student visa?
  4. There are a lot of grad programs in Public Health and Global Health that also look very interesting, also Medical Anthropology. This seemed like a bit of a "gamble" as far as finding work goes. Anyone beg to differ on this?
I’m going to have to look into which of those countries give a longer “grace period” after student visa to let you find work. My nightmare scenario is completing a grad program with no job offers and going home with my tail between my legs…though I suppose it’s easy enough to find a PA job in the states.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading and I appreciate any and all help with this crazy plan!
